Epiphany
Nobody asked me to exist in this world,
Nobody asked me if I cared about the dead stars violently colliding,
or if I felt sad when empty laughter was eating my blood.
I’ve been surrounded by unknown faces and cared too much
with a strong desire to let off steam without breaking apart.
What happens when Satan takes over your noble nature?
What's wrong with all of you?
Nobody asked you if you're having fun,
if you want onion rings,
a sudden painless death
or an apple
among the tastiest and most satisfying of fruits.
Burn not Bury
From a thread of language grew languages of celebration, languages of blood.
He dreams of waking up in the middle of a lake in gasps trying to give thanks but not knowing the words.
He listens to the light, the hauntings, time warps and tragedies.
In another’s shoes he walks across the iron bridge to where the new world begins.
He sees his childhood in the bleak sweetness of old songs.
Some afternoons he is like a lizard waiting for the sun.
